On Wednesday, popular artist Bruno Mars came to the NRG Stadium in Houston. This event sparked excitement throughout the general population of all ages, as Mars has been a significant figure in pop culture for over 15 years.
“There is something about the energy of his songs where I do not know if it is the rhythm or the beat, but it is just so good. It automatically just boosts my mood,” Junior Abril Martinez said. “Since I have been listening to him for so long, it is almost nostalgic to me now.”
Mars’ music, over the years, has included upbeat hip-hop beats such as “Uptown Funk,” while also including melancholic and slow beats like “Grenade.” Many believe that it is his diverse discography that draws many into his music.
“He creates some nice slow romantic songs and also creates fast-paced rap music in a couple of his albums,” junior Alexandra Davison said. “Just his whole influence really, he got popular globally. And so I think that is why people of all ages like him.”
With the average price of each ticket being around $646-$979, this has led some fans to question whether this concert is worth it. However, other fans disagree due to the rarity of him performing outside of Las Vegas, where he most commonly performs, and also due to the popularity of his music.
“I do think the ticket prices are outrageous, but at the same time, if it was for some random nobody, I would not be paying like $3,000 for two tickets like I did for Bruno,” Davison said. “He also never tours, so it is worth it in my opinion.”
Overall, Mars’ music and vocals spark emotion in individuals of all ages, whether it is his more upbeat or slow, and it is clear that he will remain significant throughout the years to come.
