Tuesday night, Nov. 28, the boys’ basketball put up a dominating performance against George Ranch with a final score of 61-38. The team started rough, but was able to pick the intensity in the second half and turn it up a notch. The team got into a rhythm and was able to score more. Despite the slow start the team was able to finish strong.
“The game was good, we started slow in the first half and didn’t score much in the second quarter especially, but we were able to starting connecting and put the ball in the basket the second half,” said senior Drake Dusek.
The season is still young and the team still has room for improvement. The boys are working hard in practice, improving fundamental elements of the game. Simple things, such as ball movement, not holding onto the ball to long and improving defensive skills are things that they can utilize to help them come away with a victory.
“In, practice we are still working hard on our defense and improving ball movement on offense. We are trying to better ourselves throughout the season,” said Dusek.
This may be fortunate for the Falcons as they have a strong start to their season with a record of 5-2. If they are able to continue their hot start and carry the momentum into the rest of the season, they have a good chance of being district champions and making a strong playoff run.
“I believe the season will be great for us. We have a strong chance at winning district and going far in the playoffs,” said Dusek.
