English metal core band Asking Alexandria rocked their way into Houston with the continuation of their 10 Years in Black Tour at Warehouse Live in downtown Houston on Friday, Nov. 25. Celebrating 10 years as a band, they reminisced by performing their hits on all their albums. Original member, Danny Worsnop, returned to the vocals for the first time since January 2015 during this tour. The venue was sold out as fans fervently awaited to hear a long time favorite of the metal scene.

While waiting in anticipation for the headlining band to perform, listeners got to enjoy the musical talents of Born of Osiris, I See Stars, After the Burial, Upon a Burning Body and Bad Omens. With each performer, the crowd grew increasingly engrossed in the music. Some of the openers even met with fans at their merchandize tables during the show.

The lights were cut and a spot light appeared revealing each member as they took the stage. First, on the drums, James Cassells took center stage. He was followed by bassist Sam Bettley, guitarist Cameron Liddell, and guitarist Ben Bruce. Then as the crowd chanted his name, Worsnop stole the stage going straight into their opening song “Welcome”.

Fans were mesmerized as Asking Alexandria dominated the stage as they sang “Dear Insanity”, “To the Stage”, and “Someone, Somewhere” from their 2011 album Reckless and Relentless. As Worsnop thanked the fans for coming out and supporting them for all these years, he mocked their decision to start the chronicle of their music with an album they made in the middle of their existence.

They performed many songs from hits off of Death to Destiny to Stand up and Scream. The crowd raved in excitement as there was an ongoing mosh pit in the center of the floor and crowd surfers riding their way to the front of the stage. The feeling of admiration, dedication and excitement was radiating off of the crowd; both the band and the audience were feeding off of each other’s energy. The audience was desperate for more as it seemed like Asking Alexandria was going to call it for the night.

Fans chanted for the return of the band, and at their request, Asking Alexandria came back on stage. The audience went home content after hearing both “The Final Episode (Let’s Change the Channel)” and “A Single Moment of Sincerity”.

Asking Alexandria proved they still possessed the musical talent and identity that listeners had fallen in love with over the years, everyone got to celebrate the return of Worsnop, and the rest of the band put on a fantastic show making it a very successful night.
