Finishing your favorite series is something that brings a pain like no other, wanting nothing more than to watch the show again for the first time, or to get lost in a new show. With the expansion of streaming services, there are luckily shows that are an easy binge watch. Whether it is a goofy comedy, or a spooky mystery drama, here are some handpicked TV shows to binge when there is nothing else to watch.

New Girl

Originally aired on Fox, New Girl tells the story of Jess, played by Zoey Deschanel, and her roommates in a small apartment in downtown Los Angeles. After a rough breakup from her toxic ex-boyfriend Jess needs a place to live and finds an apartment with Nick, Schmidt, and Winston. With the help of her three roommates, and her best friend Cece, Jess gets over him and lives a fun and exciting life with her roommates. Jess’ quirky, manic pixie dream girl personality type clashes with her roommates macho personality, giving hilariously awkward situations. New Girl is the perfect fluffy, soft binge show. New Girl is available for free on Hulu with seven seasons.

Explained

Netflix hosts a plethora of documentaries, one of their most interesting ones being Explained, created by news company Vox. Explained is a docuseries that, and like the title says, explains the history of various subjects like pop culture, environmental issues, music, emotions, writing, and more. Taking the studies from specialists in the fields of each episode, the show condenses the information to make it easy to understand information. Explained has three seasons and is only available on Netflix.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina

Created as the adoption of Sabrina the Teenage Witch in the mid 90’s, the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina takes a charming, modern twist to the original series. Taking place in the same universe as the popular show Riverdale, Sabrina Spellman, played by Kiernan Shipka, is a teenage girl who is half-mortal and half-witch that struggles with balancing the two vastly different lives. Throughout the series, she battles the evil forces that threaten both her and her family and friends lives. Taking in elements from the 90’s show from which it is inspired from, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is perfect to watch with multi generational families. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has two seasons, divided into four parts and is only available on Netflix.

Project Runway

Originally aired on Bravo, then on Lifetime, Project Runway is a reality fashion competition show where 16 amateur fashion stylists across the nation come together to New York City to compete against each other, hosted by Heidi Klum. Each episode has a new design challenge where each contestant competes against each other. The winner is decided by judges Nina Garcia, Zac Posen, Elaine Welteroth, Brandon Maxwell. With the help of Tim Gunn, the show’s mentor, the winner of each competition wins either an immunity, money, or the ability for their design to be sold. The contestant in last place is forced to pack up their fashion equipment, and leave. The final four contestants compete against each other for the ultimate grand prize of $100,000 to jump start their own designer line. This show is perfect for reality TV show lovers. Project Runway is available on Bravo, Hulu, and Tubi with 19 seasons, a new season coming this summer on Bravo.

My First First Love

My First First Love tells the coming of age story of a love triangle between three friends, Han Song-i, played by Jung Chae-yeon, a member of popular K-Pop girl group DIA, and Choe Hun and Yoon Tae-oh based in South Korea. When stranded by her mother, Song-i has no place to live and is invited to move in with her good friend Tae-oh, her first love interest.There she meets Hun, her second love interest. Hun and Tae-oh grow feelings for Song-i and both struggle for her affection. This show is perfect for those hungry for a love drama or fans of K-dramas. My First First Love is available on Netflix with two seasons.

Never Have I Ever

Never Have I Ever is about the turbulent life of high schooler Devi Vishwakumar, played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, who is a first-generation Indian-American. After a terrible freshman year of high school, Devi wants to rebrand herself, praying to her Gods in the first episode “that this year of high school will be better”. Throughout the show, she focuses on making her next few years of high school ones to remember, even getting into a love triangle. This show is perfect for teenagers in need of a relatable show.  Never Have I Ever is only on Netflix with three seasons, and season four coming this summer.
