Crazy for Anime

Nearly a world of its own, anime lovers eat sleep and breathe their favorite characters and shows. There are over 35,000 different animes to choose from, but sophomore Kobee Madriz insists on watching Naruto by Masashi Kishimoto.

“My favorite anime is Naruto because it teaches hard work. It shows that the more time you spend on the little things and working hard at everything you do will help you succeed.” said Madriz.

Naruto is one of the most watched anime in the world. Due to the lessons it teaches about hard work, this is a very popular anime among high school students. However, a top ranked anime in the world is Hunter x Hunter by Yoshihiro Togashi according to sophomore Tunmise Adeleye.

“Very few animes have the potential to be great. Some have captivating stories others have top of the line animation and some are just terrible from beginning to end. Only a handful excel in all areas. Hunter X Hunter is one of those rare shows that excel on all fronts. The story, animation soundtrack, and voice acting have been masterfully handled,” said Adeleye

Anime is a show full of plot twists and action. A single series of just Naruto has 220 episodes while the sequel Naruto Shippuden has 500 episode in total. Pure dedication is needed in order to finish 720 episode of your favorite show.

“I have been watching Naruto for as long as I could remember and I still have not watched every episode. It feels like every time I finish a so called season there are already 50 new episodes out,” said Madriz.

Anime is a serious business bringing in about  17.7 billion dollars. They have had the success of capturing the interest of all ages from children to teenagers to full grown adults.
