Since its 2005 premiere, Dancing With The Stars has been a globally enjoyable pop culture TV series. Famous dancers are paired with individuals who have little to no dance experience and are taught a new dance each week to perform. These dances are rooted in ballroom and jazz styles, which demand precise technique and sharpness that the average person can’t just grasp in such a short period of time. Given the difficulty of this challenge, could these Season 24 contestants prove us wrong?
The speculated Season 34 DWTS guest stars include: social media stars Alix Earle, Whitney Leavitt, and Dylan Efron; comedian Andy Richter; Olympic gymnast Jordan Chiles; actors Jennifer Affleck, Hilaria Baldwin, and Elaine Hendrix; musicians Scott Hoying and Lauren Jauregui; athlete Baron Davis; and conservationist Robert Irwin.
Each duo performs their dance live on television, then immediately gets critiques and scores for their routine. The highest score a judge can give is a 10, so the goal is to receive 10s from all judges. Many contestants in previous seasons have achieved a perfect score on their routine. Will any of this season’s stars receive a perfect score?
So far Whitney Leavitt, Dylan Efron, Robert Irwin, and recently, Jordan Chiles have been fighting hard for their place on the leaderboard. Each of these individuals has demonstrated significant score improvement from week to week, which is exactly what is sought in this show. Progression is key when being judged week to week on your dancing skills.
“I really like Alex Earle’s dedication night because it was a cute thing to do with her family, but I think judge Carrie-Ann is robbing them of their scoring. I think Andy is really sweet, but he needs to be voted off because he’s ancient and people pity him. He’s being kept on by America’s voting, not the judges,” Malak Alnuswan said.
“I really like Robert Irwin because he always has a really good, positive attitude and takes constructive criticism. I thought his dedication night was touching, but I feel like Carrie-Ann didn’t give him the proper score he deserved. Andy is really entertaining, but he’s really cutting it close. He has made progress, but it isn’t enough to keep him on the show,” McKenna Feil said.
“I liked Val and Alix because they were very smooth and artistic,” Andrew Medlock said.
Many people watch the show because, ‘It is entertaining to watch non-dancers learn how to dance from professionals,’ Malak Alnuswan said.
Along with the visual entertainment this TV series brings, it also creates excitement and involvement. If you are watching the episode live, you can put in your votes for the couple you think deserves to move forward with their performances on the show. This is a clever way to keep the watchers engaged while also gathering strong input from not only the judges but also audience members around the world.
Who do you think deserves to win the trophy in this year’s Season 34 of Dancing With The Stars?
