Every year, Tompkins High School allows students to create and secure sponsors for new clubs. This year, we spotlight two new clubs formed by a few Juniors at Tompkins: Snout and About and Color In Dreams.
Tiffany Tu and Hannah I created Snout and About for students who love animals and want to earn service hours by volunteering for animal charities. The club was established to promote the welfare of animals and advocate for their care and treatment. The dedication level of the club is minimal, but once you have committed yourself to the club, showing your support is valued highly by the officers.
The Color In Dreams is a national organization that has been brought to Tompkins through the juniors Aditi Bijosh, Navya Mereddy, and Neha Umaslevan. The girls applied to the non-profit, and the organization thought Tompkins was a great fit. The club holds meetings approximately twice a month, with dates varying. The purpose of the club is to create cards and letters that are delivered to nursing homes and hospitals. At Tompkins, the club serves as a space for students to unwind.
Both clubs welcome students of any grade level to attend meetings and participate in their extracurricular activities. Clubs at Tompkins create a safe space for students to participate in and offer a new way to form friendships and build community.
