The smell of chlorine near a pool fills the misty air. All around people spray sunscreen to avoid getting a sunburn. As you look up to absorb the view, the water splashing washes against your feet. The sun rays shine on the water making it appear a glistening light blue. During the summer, people often go down to the pools or local beaches to start the summer.

Surfside Beach: The Surfside Beach was where the Battle of Velasco happened in 1832. It is a great place to go to to relax and destress during the summer. This beach is amazing for fishing, going for a swim or surfing. Surfside Beach is also known to provide an amazing view for people who want to take a stroll. A pro of the Surfside Beach is that it has lower prices and less crowd. A con is that it has fewer restaurants nearby and activities. The water is also amazing to catch waves. Cinco Ranch Beach Club: This is located near a nice neighborhood and lake. includes a great pool and a place to have a picnic. Lake House: The Lake House is where private community parties and events can be held. It is very convenient for people who do not have the time to drive to a beach. Typhoon Texas: This amusement park is a great place to when you are bored. It has a variety of rides, including many to go with family or friends. The great thing about this place is that it has something to do for all ages. Along with a water slide, it has a  1,000 ft long lazy river. Tickets can be purchased on their website typhoontexas.com for $24.99. Typhoon Texas’ hours vary depending on the day.

Lonestar Jellystone Park: It is an award winning Texas park and is not very far from Houston. There are many enjoyable activities there such as playing in the waterpark, going on the lazy river, playing mini golf, jumping pillows, playground, sports courts, and more.
